IN A WORLD OF FAKERY, WHAT BECOMES OF TRUE LOVE?

You are invited to an exclusive glittering red-carpet event that will be attended by notorious celebrity families, The Montagues and the Capulets.

 

With the media reporting their every move and social media abuzz with their escapades tensions are running high. There’s only one question on everybody’s lips – will these two families behave, or will it be another fiery battle at dawn as the fabulous feud continues?

 

Join Heartbreak for this super glam outdoor adaptation of Shakespeare’s star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Set in the here and now, and mixing in some modern language, music, and technology, this production explores how one of the most celebrated tales of passionate love would play out in the 21st century. So bring a chair and pack the picnic (after you’ve uploaded it to Instagram, obvs!). Dress to impress and remember to charge your phone, as tweeting, snapchat, and selfies are highly advisable. After all, if you haven’t posted it online, has it really even happened?

**PLEASE NOTE ALL THREE OF THIS WEEKEND'S PERFORMANCES OF R&J DUE TO TAKE PLACE AT FLETCHER MOSS HAVE BEEN RELOCATED TO EAST DIDSBURY METHODIST CHURCH PARRS WOOD ROAD M20 5QQ. THE CHURCH HAS SOME COMFY, PADDED CHAIRS SO NO NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN! JUST BRING YOURSELVES AND A PICNIC. DUE TO THE CHURCH BEING METHODIST, WE ASK FOR YOU TO RESPECT THEIR RELIGIOUS VIEWS AND ONLY CONSUME SOFT DRINKS. THE CAST CAN'T WAIT TO WELCOME YOU IN THE DRY INSIDE AND PERFORM A TALE OF TWO LOVERS.

As part of Heartbreak's mission we aim to make theatre as inclusive as possible. In order to reach audiences with limited access to theatre we reserve 100 Pay What You Can tickets at a matinee performance for each of our shows (suggested donation £5 per person). These are available as "walk-up" tickets on a first come, first served basis on the day of the show and can not be reserved. Pay What You Can performances are only available at the following venues: Jesmond Dene, Newcastle; Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens, Manchester; Temple Newsam, Leeds; The Botanical Gardens, Sheffield
